BESTIES AT CRAN HILL RANCH!!!

JONA'S BAPTISM September 30th, 2012

A very special day for Jona!  She was incredibly excited and proud and walking tall for several days after!!!

Random Summer shots

I actually took several naps this summer, first time in years!!

It didn't rain the entire month of may, june or july!  hasn't happened in my life time!  then august came, the coldest, wettest august on record I believe!!

July 2012

We finally made it back to Cran Hill Ranch after years of being away!   I still continue to love this place.  I grew up camping here.  Jaden went to summer camp for the very first time.  Overnight for a week, he had a fabulous time!  The girls and I camped in the campgrounds while dad stayed home with the ladies and all the pets.  It started out pretty miserably if the truth be told.  I was sick with fever and other issues.  The camper broke and Olyvia and i were really at odds with each other.  I was crying by the first hour.  Aimee Garcia joined us (a childhood best friend) who also grew up going to the ranch!  She saved the day, calmed me down and the rest of the week went beautifully!

Junes first camping trip!

                         WABASIS LAKE!!!

Of course we need to leave technology at home the next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Play friend for an hour!

As usual, the SUMMER flew by!

Here I am sitting in October having not blogged a thing since June.  With Instagram in my life, I haven't much time for any other kind of media.  I have tried numerous times to blog from my phone, that would be so much easier and convenient.  I still can't figure out how to do it though.  The iphone lets me see and read this thing, not post to it?  IDEAS anyone?  I suppose the easiest thing for me to do is give a brief, quick flash of the summer instead of attempting to make up for 4 lost months.  We started out our summer with Spencer coming home from his first year as a SPARTY!  He typically would have been here for 4 short weeks.  Because of surgery we had him half of the summer instead!

Prayer with Intent!

My 8 year old daughter has been a mighty prayer warrior for years!  This evening at bedtime, quite randomly "..... And God bless...... And thank you for....... And always remember......   And God, the girl thats in my Sunday school
Class I want you to pray for her!  Her mom and dad are fighting all the time and it scares her little brother!". This was so special to me (and) to the girlfriend she had spending the night!  My daughters friend stopped her prayer, jumped UP in the bed and said "This is
SERIOUS, let's all hold
Hands and pray again!".    Not only was I humbled by their prayer, but I was reminded that we are all imperfect!  As far as I know that "random" girl
In Sunday school is home
Praying for US!  The devil
Has been alive and well and attempting to Wreak havoc all over this house lately!   I love that my children are being raised in an environment to
Ask for prayer requests and
Actually follow through by praying with INTENT!  My Jona knows that God can fix anything:)

Last and 3rd snow of the year!

Jaden had a thought.... lets make a snow ball and roll it all the way over to Mr Coopers house!  He got all the way to the property line before it just wouldn't budge another inch...
           So he recruited some help......

Then found some more help...  But still, that ball just wouldn't move!!!
Alas, Mr Cooper was building his own fort, might he help us?

Of course he will......  whoops, look below, Mr Cooper!!! your going the wrong way!!!

UH OH, our ball is bigger than all 6 of his! LOLOLOLOL
Doesn't everyones mom pop them popcorn to hang in the snow fort?

It only snowed 3 times this winter, Swear!

                                           Who's going to cry first?

                                           Nobody cried, YAY!

Gone To Long.......

I'm so frustrated with myself for letting my blog go....  I have been utterly and completely taken over by life and schedule this past year.  Homeschooling leaves me with very little free time during the day.  My eldest son began his first year of college which brought us to Lansing quite a bit last fall.  Olyvia started high school and has been in a sport ever since.  Jaden is double sporting with soccer and TaeKwonDo.  Jona started violin lessons and began having a social life.  We added a third foster care resident which is proving to be quite time consuming.  My mom had quite a few health problems this past year and needed more help.  I started picking up more shifts at the hospital and personally I struggled through another bout of depression.  I almost feel as though I've lost an entire year to complete exhaustion, over scheduled weeks, obsessions with weight loss and wanting to nap!!  I certainly was NOT ready for summer to end last year.  I had never wanted fall to "not" get here so badly in my life.  I was not the mom counting down the days to ship everyone off..... I could have lasted another few months easily.  So here we are, another school year almost ending.  I'm SO excited for summer yet again.  I'm excited for Ivan and I and some of the goals we are working toward.  I'm elated that my children are healthy and successful in their own "little" worlds.  I'm incredibly proud of Spencer.  He had many personal struggles entering into his first year of adulthood.  Many adjustments and life changes and he has done a remarkable job.  Olyvia has struggled a bit as a freshman "girl" in high school.  What female hasn't lived through that drama and wished never to look back on it. She is doing her very best and is turning into quite the fabulous young women....pretty damn gorgeous as well:)  We took our first family spring break vacation last month.... drove to florida and stayed at the Orange Lake Resort!!  Our first spring break in 10 years.  I will certainly remember that trip for many years.... the adventure and the 3 or 4 family emergencies that got called in before we were even out of Atlanta!  I'm back to blogging!  This is something I enjoy and want to have in future years.  It's my "journal" of sorts.  I'm told on a very regular basis that one day my life will be boring and free of chaos!  When and IF that ever happens I won't have anything to blog, so I need to make the time NOW to do this.  Then when I am bored 20 years from now, I can come back here and relive the chapters of my life!

Lastly.....

My final post of my favorite summer 2010 memories!!! Jona and I camping! Didn't matter where, just camping with her was a riot!!!! She loves to help pack, unpack, clean, cook, swim, bonfire etc etc etc!!!! Duke Creek she brought her best friend Grace, (way fun!) Jannessa visited as well! We loved the lake Michigan waves, however, she was much more fearful than Jaden! She loves laying in the sun to get warm, (keep explaining that she already has a God given tan!) We explored lighthouses and swamps and took many hand held walks!!! I Love my Jona Piper Brazil and I'm pretty sure it will be difficult to TOP one of the best summers of my entire Life as a Mother!!!!
